About UCSB Polo

Polo at UCSB was started to create an accessible way for students to get involved with horses and learn the sport of polo. Founded in 2017, the club has transformed into one of California's biggest up and coming intercollegiate teams under the direction of head coach Jeff Scheraga and support from Santa Barbara Polo Club's non-profit organization, the PTC. We are proud of our team's diverse backgrounds and equestrian experience. The goal of Polo at UCSB is to bring the elegant sport of polo to UCSB students in a way that is both competitive and accessible.

We spend our season practicing multiple times a week, improving on mallet work, game strategy, and horsemanship. With access to great polo ponies and an amazing facility at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club, it’s hard to find a better student run organization. If you have an interest in the incredible sport of polo, or want to start getting involved with horses we’re here to help you get in the game and in the saddle.
